Hello! Project’s opening number, ‘Honey Pie,’ Winter 2010.
Welcome to all those who admire and respect the world of Japanese popular music and dance, with an emphasis on the so-called idol singers of Hello! Project and AKB48. This site’s sole purpose is to promote sales of CDs, DVDs and other merchandise associated with this underappreciated art form and expand its influence globally.
Free advertising: This is what we will call an “e-magazine,” in which companies can advertise for free if they choose. Just send me your ad insert and I’ll slot it into the blog post or posts of your choice. Make sure write “YankeeOtaku Inquiry” in the Subject line, and e-mail to: radicalpatriot@yahoo.com.
The name, “YankeeOtaku,” has been around for a while but only recently have circumstances been such as to fnally pull this website and blog together. It is inspired, in part, by the former blog “American Wota,” which is now unfortunately no longer being updated. However, sister metablog and site “International Wota” remains very much active.
In any event, until we get everything arranged here, please refer to four very useful existing blog archives which shed light on not only latest developments in the idol-music industry, but in-depth analysis and first-hand knowledge, when possible, of visiting idol groups.
For example, AKB48 was a key invitee to Anime Expo 2010 in Los Angeles, July 1-5. Morning Musume of Hello! Project was a musical guest for AX 2009 the previous yar.
